Living Stones

1 Peter 2:4-7 (Good News Translation) 4 Come to the Lord, the living stone rejected by people as worthless but chosen by God as valuable. 5 Come as living stones, and let yourselves be used in building the spiritual temple, where you will serve as holy priests to offer spiritual and acceptable sacrifices to God through Jesus Christ. 6 A)">( A ) For the scripture says, I chose a valuable stone, which I am placing as the cornerstone in Zion; and whoever believes in him will never be disappointed. 7 B)">( B ) This stone is of great value for you that believe; but for those who do not believe: The stone which the builders rejected as worthless turned out to be the most important of all.

This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.

This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. When I was just a little kid, the only thing that I wanted to eat was hot dogs, nothing else. I rejected so many other foods, and I distinctly recall one time when it got so bad that I ran off to my room, and my Dad came waving a raw hot dog at me so that I would come back to the dinner table. Man things have changed since then. I now reject hot dogs on a regular basis, guess that I have had my fill of them. And so many of the foods that I once rejected are now my favorites. Think of all the things in our life that we missed out on because we rejected them, and how we later tried them out and found that they somehow changed the way we felt about them. Jesus is the same way! I know so many people that once rejected him and now the life they have has changed in such a great way. I have one friend in particular to who used to rip on Jesus and would nearly get in fights over why he thought th...

The stone which the builders rejected has become the capstone

Things are not always as they appear. Don't judge a book by the cover. Save that, you might need it later! The Psalmist that wrote this may have referred to the building of the Temple, what it means to me is that no matter how unimportant or odd or weird a person may seem, God has a purpose for them, and us, that has not been revealed to us. You are special to Him, don't doubt it. Just because someone things you are weird or strange or Geek or whatever it is that they are trying to put you OUT of their box. Forget them, for now. God has special plans for you, you and them, may not be aware of what those plans are. I wasted too many years of my life without knowing what the Lord wanted of me. I failed to ask him, I rarely if ever prayed to him, unless I really needed something. This was because I failed to realize that I was a special. I know that I am here to help the children of Roatan, if you want to help please donate and you too can change the life of a child in need.

Take Away the Stone

Jesus wept. That is my nieces favorite Bible verse. Right after that Jesus tells them to remove the stone from Lazarus' tomb. Leading up to this Mary and Martha were sure that if Jesus had been there, their brother would not have died. They were about to learn that with Jesus anything was possible, and they got to learn that first hand. What an awesome site that must have been. Many times in my life I have felt similar times when I was to experience that power first hand, nothing like raising the dead, but an awesome power of having something turn around 180 degrees right before your eyes. Some people call them miracles, but I think that miracles are unexpected, so what do you call it when you expect it, but have some small doubt. I mean I knew that I was going on the mission trip in 2007, but I did not have the finances, I did not sign up, I did not attend any meetings. I only let a few people know that I still wanted to go. If you have read previous posts, you know how this turn...

They Picked up Stones

At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds. John 8:59 Don't fear what you don't know or don't understand. Those persons is this story missed out on knowing and following our Creator and Savior. They accused and attacked Him (verbally) with out questioning the Lord on the direction that they should take. Take time to pray today that the Spirit that the lord has provide lead us, grant us wisdom so that we may know Him and love Him.

He picked up five smooth stones

David, took on his giant and won! Today find time to take on your giants, for they stand in your way, the way of your dreams and His dreams for you. Do not hesitate to start now. There is no Giant large enough that cannot be defeated, including death itself. We invite the Holy Spirit to guide us today.

The one who has never sinned throw the first stone!

Most Christians have heard this story before. This is the one that gets me all the time. I have a judgmental person, I am always saying (mostly in my head) why do they do this or that? Don't they realize what that is saying about them? I will try and put people in boxes, usually below me. Or at least that is what I believe at the time. I know some people that are much better at this (NOT being judgmental) then I am. I am trying to avoid those conversations at work, the rumors, the gossip, the competition that I play in my head. I always find it interesting that the story states that the older people left first...and as I get older I find that it is easier to be less judgmental. I calculate that I may only need to live to be about 200 to completely remove this from my system. I have also noticed today that people can see me, I mean I am generally invisible in many situations, but today I walked a route that I have many times prior, and in those times people rarely acknowledge me. To...
