Concussions from 60 minutes.

Back in 2007 I wrote about concussions and that Parents need to know what it is that they are dealing with. 60 Minutes did some new segments on football and concussions. A blow to the brain, where they discuss the recent concussion to Tim Tebow , and how concussions forced Steve Young , Troy Aikman to retire. And they have examined the brain of former Viking Wally Hilgenberg one of my all time favorites. Watch CBS News Videos Online What parents need to know, Dr. Andrew Tucker talked about youth and concussions. Reports are that young people that injure the brain, the risks of future permanent problems increase. Watch CBS News Videos Online Thats Football, Kyle Turley reports that he suffers depression and believes that it may be due to the Concussions that he had gotten. Watch CBS News Videos Online Thank you 60 minutes for helping keep this in front of American parents.

So if Brett Favre really better then Tavaris Jackson?

Brett Favre is 5-0 for the first time in his career, so I was curious on where he ranked in Viking history for season by a QB. He ranks 56th and is climbing fast the last two games. But what I noticed is that TJack (Tavaris Jackson) from 2008 was ranked 57. So, just looking at the stats from pro-football-reference.com through five games there are some remarkable similarities. Click the title to go to the page I was reading, if you can read stats!! Both started 5 games Both had 149 attempt, Favre completed 15 more of those. Both had about the same yardage, so TJack got more bang for his completion 1069 vs 1056. Both completed 6 TD and 2 INT TJack was sacked 14 times and Favre was sacked 11 Now TJack's stats are more then just those five games, they also include the games in which he did not start. I watched most games and don't really recall how many times he may have come in relief and did something either good or bad. Rk Year Age Tm Pos G GS QBrec ...

Favre beats the Packers soundly

Brett Favre wanted to beat the Packers. You can see it in everything he says or does. Ted Thompson took a big risk by trading Favre, but Aaron Rodgers looks just about as good as Brett, the biggest difference is the offensive line. I think if you were to switch QB only and everyone knows the offense. I think this game ends very similar. Favre emotions took over a good part of this game. The Viking defense had trouble with the long passes. The punting game for the Vikings really played well, with three straight pins deep in the Packer end of the field, two near the 5 and the other at the 15. Great game, and great comeback attempt by the Packers to make the game fun right up to the end. The silly little people that called the 3rd down play when the Packers are trying to save clock time nearly cost the Vikings the game.

Game 163

Twins and Tigers were not able to take the title in 162 games so they had to play one more game. And what a game it was, nine innings still did not determine who would face the Yankees. Scott Baker took the mound for the Twins, and did a good job. He made one really bad pitch to Cabrera for a two-run homerun in the third inning. Tiger lead 3-0, the crowd was a bit quiet. The Twins got a run back, but the rally ended. Baker then set them down one after another. In the sixth inning Jason Kubel knocked a solo homerun. Tigers lead 3-2. Go to the bottom of the seventh inning and the Twins score two more runs, the crowd is so loud now, that my six year old son had to plug his ears. Twins lead now 4-3 just get six more outs and we are champs!!! Top of the eight, uuugg are you kidding me? Tiger still have fight in them, Ordonez solo homerun. Tie game!! With how tight this game was, it was hard to believe this was just the first time, since the scoring started, that the game was tied 4-4. I act...
